Alta Vista

Rainbow & WheatAlta Vista remains the traditional farming and ranching community it has been for over one hundred years.  The small town atmosphere and freedom from crime makes it a wonderful place for families or retirees.  Alta Vista's 2014 population was 439.   The community offers nice properties for sale or rent, a middle school, as well as a downtown business district.

Be sure you investigate the antiques stores and art gallery!  Stop by the senior center for meals or fun activities!

The business variety in Alta Vista is great!  They include an international livestock supply center, dining, lodging, fuel, construction, lumber yard, ag services, masonry, livestock production, real estate, furniture restoration, equipment fabrication, auto repair and insurance.

Alta Vista has a Spanish meaning of “high view”.  As you look across the rolling hills of Flint Hills tall grass prairie your breath will be taken away!  Before being settled as Alta Vista this area was a German settlement called Templin.

Join us for a bit and discover the beauty of the Kansas Flint Hills!
