Wildflower expert, Jeff Hansen, from the Kansas Native Plant Society will lead the tour that will last till sunset. This will be a good opportunity to understand the function of the Tallgrass Prairie and the plants that make it work.

On June 9th @ 7:00 pm, Pottawatomie and Wabaunsee Co. Conservation Districts will be hosting a Wildflower Tour for anyone interested in learning about the plant diversity of the Tallgrass Prairie. The tour will be held at the Mt. Mitchell Heritage Prairie south of Wamego. The tour will be led by wildflower expert, Jeff Hansen, from the Kansas Native Plant Society and will last till sunset. This will be a good opportunity to understand the function of the Tallgrass Prairie and the plants that make it work. Refreshments will be provided by the Wabaunsee and Pottawatomie County Conservation Districts following the walk. Everyone is invited to attend. Make sure to bring questions and maybe even a couple mystery plants.

Mt. Mitchell is located on Mitchell Prairie Rd (3.5 miles south of Wamego on Hwy 99 or 5.5 miles north of K-99 and I-70).
